why we do what we do
Hair Response, Inc. was created in response to Barbara Goldberg’s personal experience of going through hair loss in 1985. At the age of 10, Barbara began losing her hair to Alopecia Areata. Throughout her struggle, she found that there were no businesses that were compassionate and sensitive to her needs, and she knew that helping others through their own hair loss experiences was what she was meant to do. Barbara set out to create a place that provided a private and compassionate atmosphere where people could feel confident and comfortable about themselves, and have the support and understanding from an experienced, kind team of professionals. The mission is simple: allow clients to continue to look and feel themselves while going through a sensitive time.
In 1989, Amy began working along side her mom at Hair Response. In the beginning, she struggled to find her niche in the company, but undoubtedly knew she wanted to continue to help others who were going through hair loss situations. Her experience of growing up with a mom without hair allowed her to connect to the work she was doing in a more intimate way, and gave her unique insights and perspectives into the industry as well as an innate ability to relate to the clients entering the doors of Hair Response.
What makes us unique is our approach to our clients. We are not a retail “wig shop.” We aim to provide a comforting, private, and compassionate environment where we work one-on-one with each of our clients to help them create the confidence to power their well-being and continue to feel good about themselves no matter their hair loss journey.
YOU are a part of our story.
We are grateful for the opportunity to work with all of our inspiring clients who remind us every day why we do what we do.
