Where is Hair Response located?
We're at 3295 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Suite 111, Arlington Heights, IL 60004, in Chicago's northwest suburbs. Why are appointments required? Can't I just walk in?
We schedule by appointment so that every person gets our full, undivided attention. That means no waiting room, no distractions and no rushing — just a private room and the time to talk things through properly. Call us at (847) 541-9799 and we'll find a time that works for you.

What's the difference between a wig shop and Hair Response?
A retail wig shop sells you something off a shelf. We work exclusively with clients navigating hair loss, and every solution we provide is custom measured, fitted, cut and styled for that specific person. We also teach you how to wear, style and care for your piece, and we're here for ongoing service long after your first appointment.
-
What should I expect during my consultation?
You'll meet privately with a specialist who will listen to your story, look at your hair loss pattern, and talk through the options that suit your lifestyle, styling ability and coverage needs. There's no pressure and no obligation — many people come in simply to learn what's possible.
-
How much does a wig cost at Hair Response?
Cost depends on the type of piece, the cap construction, and whether it's human hair or synthetic, so we review options across a range of price points during your consultation. If your hair loss is medically related, your piece may be prescribed as a cranial prosthesis, and some insurance plans recognize it for coverage — we're glad to help you look into that.
-
What if I'm nervous about coming in?
That's completely normal, and you are far from alone. Hundreds of clients have walked through our door feeling uncertain and left feeling like themselves again. There's no pressure here and no rush — just compassionate care from people who have specialized in this for over 40 years.

Still have a question? Call (847) 541-9799 or send us a note and we'll answer it directly.
“Our goal is to inform, educate and empower the client so they can make informed decisions for themselves.”— Barbara Goldberg, Founder
A few more questions
-
What's the difference between a wig and a hair topper?
A wig gives full coverage and is fitted to your head shape. A topper is a partial piece that adds coverage, density and volume to areas that are thinning, blending with the hair you still have. Which one suits you depends on more than hair alone — styling ability, lifestyle and how much coverage you need all come into it, so we look at your hair loss pattern together during your consultation.
-
Should I come in before chemotherapy starts?
If you can, yes. We recommend coming in before treatment begins so your piece is ready when you need it, rather than being arranged in a hurry once hair loss has started.
-
Do you service wigs and toppers I didn't buy from you?
We do. We're happy to service wigs and toppers that weren't originally purchased from us — washing, styling, deep conditioning, defrizzing, rewaving, coloring on human hair, and repairs.
-
How often does a piece need professional servicing?
It varies with the piece and how you wear it. Some clients come in every two weeks for a wash and style, some every few months for defrizzing and deep conditioning, and some once a year to refresh the color on human hair pieces that have oxidized in the sun. Regular servicing catches frizzing, tangling and everyday wear before they turn into bigger problems, so the piece lasts longer.
